Privacy notice

A short explanation of what happens to information you send to Guildford Home Automation.

Who we are

Guildford Home Automation is a Guildford-based home technology and energy integration service. For privacy questions, contact hello@guildfordhomeautomation.co.uk.

What we collect

If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number if you choose to provide it, information about your home or equipment, and anything else you include in your enquiry.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond to you, understand what you are asking us to do, prepare recommendations or quotations, and provide services you ask us to provide. Depending on the circumstances, this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract, or for our legitimate interest in responding to genuine business enquiries.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may use service providers that help us run the website and communicate with you, including Cloudflare for website and email infrastructure and Google for email. Information may also be shared with a relevant qualified tradesperson where this is necessary for work you have asked us to coordinate, and we will keep that sharing proportionate to the job.

How long we keep it

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to deal with your enquiry, provide any resulting service, handle follow-up questions and meet applicable business, tax or legal record-keeping requirements. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or securely disposed of.

Your rights

UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. Depending on the circumstances, these can include asking for a copy, correcting inaccurate information, asking for deletion or restriction, and objecting to some uses. Contact us at the address above if you want to exercise a data protection right.

Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
